Brandon Cabrales was born on February 9, 1978 in Downey,
California. Growing up as an only child, Brandon had the
luxury, but sometimes, dis-luxury of being the main concern
to his parents. From day 1, he was put into any activity his
parents could find. At the ripe young age of 10, he and his
parents relocated out of the sunny Southern California weather
to the rainy Northwest culture of Seattle, Washington. After
many activities and rainy indoor days later, at the age of 14,
he was given his first guitar. Brandon’s interest with the
instrument grew and his love for music deafened everything
else around him. He spent his teens and early twenty’s using
the guitar and music as a way to escape the everyday stress of
life and rainy Seattle days. After completing college, he felt
the urge to relocate back to the place where he was born, sunny
Southern California. It was then that he decided to take his love
for music more seriously partnering up to create what is
now Surface Crew
